Sarah T. Dotte
Hello! I'm Sarah, I am a University of Minnesota graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Product Design. I have a passion for furniture design and toy design, but I like to consider myself a jack of all trades when it comes to innovative, creative product design.
I started my academic career at Century College, where I received my Associate of Applied Science degree for Engineering CAD Technology. From there, I discovered my passion for design and wanted to further pursue a degree in Product Design.
Since my first semester at the University of Minnesota, I have learned how to sketch and render in both analog and digital; conduct user interviews and user testing; work together on interdisciplinary team projects; create, analyze, and render CAD models using Solidworks and Keyshot; prepare and present designs to receive critique and gather feedback; and so much more.
In my free time, I like to paint, draw, bike, swim, and play the ukulele. My fine art hobby has allowed me to improve my perspective as well as increase my attention to detail. My instrumental skills help me to maintain precision and accuracy when working with my hands.
Some fun facts about me are that I owned a hobby farm with six chickens; I built them various coops and yard toys, as well as, collected fresh eggs every day. I also enjoy woodworking and furniture building with my dad and forging steel into key chains, bottle openers, sculptures, and daggers with my brother.
